Weekly Inspiration ~ Sunday ~ March 7, 2010

LUKE 6:42 How can you say to your brother, 'Brother, let me take the speck out of your eye,' when you yourself fail to see the plank in your own eye? You hypocrite, first take the plank out of your eye, and then you will see clearly to remove the speck from your brother's eye.

Daily Reflection:  Look in the mirror at self, be honest, deal with your faults, first, then move on to help others.

Daily InspirationIt is so easy to tell others their faults rather than dealing with our own, first. When we behave this way, we act as if we have our self in order, when we don't. Sometimes when bad happens to others, we try to comfort our own egos by stating, "That couldn't be me because I would......." or "I am so glad I don't have it that bad". How hypocritical of us! Don't you know in God's eyes there are no small or big sins, problems or people? God allows trials in our lives so we can grow and learn from them. Once we move that mountain (trouble), we are better equipped to help the next person with a similar mountain.

So the next time you feel the hypocrite rear its ugly head, stop and ask yourself, what's going on with me? Don't look down on a liar, because you lie too (you may not be verbally speaking lies, but do you lift supplies from work without asking your employer?). Don't judge a murderer, because in the Lord's eyes, you are guilty of murder too (have you or are you angry with someone, do you or have you hated anyone?). Don't look down on the married person who committed adultery, because you are guilty of the same (have you had lustful thoughts or given looks to someone who is not your spouse?). None of these offences are acceptable, but I have been led to share them to show you that we all have work to do. So encourage and uplift each other like the Lord says we are to do and pray for, don't judge, each other. In Jesus name I say, Amen.
